Attempts made to block development works in St Andre: MLA

OLD GOA

St Andre MLA Viresh Borkar has alleged that attempts are being made by his opponents to block development works in the constituency.

Borkar made the statement during the inauguration programme of the commencement of road tarring work at Arkar in Curca on Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters, Borkar said when the locals apprised him on the need to tar the mud road he immediately put up the file with the PWD authorities.

“However, my opponents made attempts to block the file,” the MLA alleged.

When further questioned by The Goan, Borkar said that being in opposition he is facing a lot of difficulties in getting the development works approved in St Andre.

“And on top of that, my opponents make every attempt to block the development works,” Borkar stated while adding that he is unfazed by his opponents and will continue to work for his constituents.

A physically challenged man Manguesh Kuttikar said that the tarring of the road was badly needed as during the night time it was difficult to commute.
