Even as the residents of the Ramnagiri housing society have heaved a sigh of relief after the authorities kept on hold plans to disconnect the water supply to the society, a resident of Sao Jose de Areal, Freddy Travasso has demanded that the authorities direct the society to pump out the sewage water from the septic tank every day.
Travasso pointed out that the release of sewage water has been causing a nuisance for the residents of Mugali, Sao Jose de Areal since the water has been flowing along the roadside.
He pointed out that if the proposed plan to disconnect the water supply has been kept on hold after the Sewage Infrastructure Development Corporation of Goa wrote a letter to the Curtorim primary health centre, the housing society should be directed to pump out the sewage water with the help of a night soil tanker.
“The SIDCG has promised to resolve the sewage network within the next two months. But, what about the sewage flow from the residents’ society. Will the authorities allow the society to discharge the sewage water into the drain for the next two months,” he wondered, demanding that the authorities, including the Curtorim Health Centre direct the society to pump out the sewage water from the septic tank every day and stop the nuisance and health hazard to the locality.
