Awareness workshop on SC/ST Acts today

PANAJI: The SC/ST Commission will organise a one-day workshop on the Prevention of Atrocities Act 1989 and the Scheduled Tribes and other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of forest rights) Act 2006 today from 10 am to 5 pm at Ravindra Bhavan, Fatorda. Minister for Tribal Welfare Govind Gaude, and secretary for tribal welfare Chokha Ram Garg IAS will be present.

The programme aims to create awareness of the two acts, and also monitor their successful implementation in the true spirit.
