OLD GOA: Even as the suspense continues over moves by St Cruz MLA Babush Monserratte to form a new party, papers have been reportedly submitted in this regard to the Election Commission of India.
As per information available with The Goan, the new party will be named ‘United Goans Party’ and former Santa Cruz sarpanch Tony Fernandes has been nominated as its president, Rahul Lotliker as general secretary and Mario Fernandes as treasurer.
The Goan has further learnt that the papers for registration of the party were submitted to ECI on August 31 and around 300 members have already enrolled.
The official address of the party has been given as Shop 7, Gramilo Dondrem, Taleigao.
