In a chilling incident, a baby girl was found abandoned outside a Chapel at first ward, Colva last night.
After being intimated about the incident, the Colva police took possession of the infant and later admitted her to the South Goa district hospital for treatment.
Colva PI Arun Desai said the infant’s condition is stable and is kept for observation at the South Goa district hospital.
He said the police are on the look out for the accused parents for abandoning the infant. Sources said the Colva police has zeroed in on the suspect behind the incident.
The incident came to light on late Wednesday evening when the baby, wrapped in a cloth, was found abandoned on a bench outside a Chapel. Initially, locals thought that a doll is lying on the bench, only to realise later that someone has abandoned a baby girl on the bench.
