The Business Advisory Committee met at the Goa Legislative Assembly on Friday and finalised the agenda for the upcoming two-day winter session, under the shadow of the Opposition’s charge against the government of holding short sessions to avoid facing them over several issues.
Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar, however, told the media later that the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had assured in the BAC meeting that additional days of sitting would be accommodated in the budget session, which will be held in March.
As per conventions, the two-day session on February 6 and 7 will begin with the customary address of Governor PS Shreedharan Pillai, as it will be the first session of the calendar year.
On day two, normal proceedings, including Question Hour and some government business related to bills replacing ordinances, are expected to be transacted.
Some four to five private members’ resolutions will also be taken up, Tawadkar said.
