Members of the All Goa ST/SC/OBC communities on Saturday demanded the resignation of what they called as “non-performing” PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar, accusing the MGP leader for always working against the welfare and interests of the scheduled tribes, scheduled castes and backward communities.
Addressing the media, Anthony Barbosa and others condemned what they called as a systematic and planned allegations made by MGP leaders to malign, tarnish and suppress the Minister for Tribal Affairs and ST leader Govind Gaude. “We strongly object to the allegations made by MGP Executive President Narayan Sawant that Gaude verbally abused Dhavalikar over a disagreement on some issue during the Cabinet meeting on January 24. The Tribal Minister had clarified that he had never abused the PWD Minister at the meeting,” Anthony said.
He pointed out there’s a clear connivance between the PWD Minister and the MGP Executive Committee to attack the Gaude,” he said, adding that it is clear that Sawant is acting as a mouthpiece of the PWD Minister.
“MGP is now being operated as a family business by Dhavalikar family. Also, development works undertaken by Gaude in Priol constituency are making Deepak Dhavalikar uncomfortable and that has forced him to contest the ensuing bypoll from Shiroda,” he added.
He further slammed the PWD Minister saying that he ignored the demands of the people of Goa to name the 3rd Mandovi bridge after MGP leader and first Chief Minister Dayanand Bandodkar as he belonged to the Bahujan Samaj.
He demanded that the MGP should ask for the resignation of the PWD Minister from the Cabinet.
