MARGAO
The All Goa Bakers and Confectioners Association has condemned the decision taken by the All Goa Association of Bakers to sell pao at Rs 5 from November 1.
President of All Goa Bakers and Confectioners Association Peter Fernandes wondered why the Association of Bakers have resolved to sell the Pao at Rs 5 from November when entire Goa has already started selling pao at Rs 5.
Peter has cautioned the rival bakers association that bakers will face a disaster if the hike in the price of pao is delayed when there’s public support for the move. “If we delay in implementing the price hike, we will not be able to increase the price in the future since bakers from outside Goa are looking for more commission and turnover”, Peter warned.
Saying the ball now lies in the court of bakers, he said it is duty of the bakers to see about their future.
“I strongly condemn the decision of the Association Bakers to implement the new price from November 1 in Salcette, where entire Goa has Peacefully accepted the price of Pao for Rs.5”, he said, saying the decision of the AGAB is totally unacceptable.
“The decision to sell the Pao at the new price is a mockery done with malafide intention”, he added.
