Agitated gram sabha members of the Balli village panchayat on Sunday forced adjournment of the meeting on grounds that the minutes of the previous meetings were not confirmed and implemented.

The meeting saw gram sabha members raising the issue of frequent transfer of panchayat secretaries affecting the Panchayat administration.

The meeting chaired by newly-elected Sarpanch Harshad Vithal Parit saw members demanding to know the action initiated by the Panchayat on certain decisions taken by the members at the previous meetings.

Incidentally, Sarpanch Parit later told the media that the frequent transfers of panchayat secretaries has hit the administration.

He pointed out that at least four panchayat secretaries have been shunted out of office during his short stint in office.
