Anthony Barbosa is the new president of the Tiatr Academy of Goa. He was appointed to the vacant post by an order issued by the Director of Art and Culture, Shagun Velip on Wednesday.
Briefing the media, Anthony Barbosa has vowed to take tiatr across the world with the help of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and the government machinery.
He also announced plans to take the initiative of building a hall for Tiatr Academy of Goa to the logical conclusion.
Hailing from Manora-Raia, Barbosa profusely thanked Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, party president, MP Sadanand Shet Tanavade, Art and Culture Minister Govind Gawde and Art and Culture Director, Shagun Velip for appointing him as the TAG president.
“I am a grass-root BJP worker. The party has given me this position and the platform to work for the society. I thank the party leaders and the Ministers, MLAs etc for the position”, he said.
Saying that he will take care of TAG president on Friday, Barbosa said “my priority as TAG president will be to take tiatr to the world with the help and support of the Chief Minister. Secondly, the former TAG president had taken the initiative to build a hall for TAG. It would be my endeavour to build the hall so that it generates revenue for the academy”.
He said all issues and problems plaguing tiatr and tiatrists will be addressed in consultation with the Chief Minister and Art and Culture Minister.
