Belagavi city will be out of bounds for visitors to the city as the 10-day Winter Session of Karnataka Legislature will commence from December 9.

With the city gearing up for the session, Belagavi is poised to host ministers, MLAs, and top officials while also engaging citizens through cultural and historical events while hotels in the city will be fully booked and unavailable to visitors.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Roshan has directed officials to ensure seamless execution of the Winter Legislative Session. He was speaking to officials during a preparatory meeting at Suvarna Vidhana Soudha on Thursday. Stressing the importance of efficiency, he instructed all committees to diligently fulfil their responsibilities.

From December 9, Belagavi city will host Karnataka’s entire administrative machinery for 10 days.

The DC emphasised that any lapses could disrupt the session, urging officials to be proactive in their roles.

“Adequate transport, accommodation, and meals must be arranged for visiting ministers, legislators, and staff. Everyone must work cohesively to avoid errors,” he stated.

To enhance public engagement, a photo exhibition titled “Gandhi Bharat” will mark 100 years of the Congress session. Designed for students and the public, the exhibition will showcase India's historical journey. DC Roshan instructed the layout be visitor-friendly, ensuring smooth access.

Cultural programmes are also planned at the Suvarna Soudha auditorium throughout the session. Committees were asked to finalise preparations, with a focus on quality and timely execution.

Technical readiness was another priority. DC Roshan directed officials to ensure all computers and internet systems in ministerial offices function without interruptions. VIP protocol officers must maintain constant communication to avoid any breaches in decorum.

"Every official has been assigned specific responsibilities. It is crucial to execute them flawlessly," the DC reiterated, emphasising accountability.
