In an interesting development, the Congress leadership has convened the postponed meeting of the Benaulim block on Monday to recommend names of party candidates for the ensuing polls, but is silent on similar meetings of the Fatorda, Vasco and Dabolim blocks.
While the meeting of the Benaulim block is expected to take place on Monday morning, questions are being raised why the party has not called the postponed meetings of the remaining three blocks.
This has only thrown up questions whether the Congress has any plan to convene the postponed meetings of Fatorda, Vasco and Dabolim before the ongoing exercise of calling for names of candidates for the coming polls.
This question has assumed significance and comes against the backdrop of reports that like-minded political parties, including Goa Forward and NCP, have set their eyes on Fatorda and Vasco and Dabolim.
The party had postponed the Benaulim block meeting last week.
