Continuing with its series of meetings against the highway road expansion through the village, the Bhoma locals have vowed not to allow any further survey in the village till the time that they get clarity on the alignment first.
The decision was taken as a large number of locals met to chalk out the future strategy in the matter.
Speaking on the occasion, leader Sanjay Naik demanded that the PWD officials first show to them the alignment of the project without which we are not going to allow ny further survey work.
“We have been demanding that the PWD minister along with the officials come in our village and explain to us the details of the project. But till date, they have failed to do so,” Naik stated.
“Now we have decided that we will not allow any survey work till our queries are clarified by the officials,” Naik stated.
Further, Naik questioned the role of the police who were questioning the locals about the documents.
“Since when did the police get powers to do so. It is the duty of the PWD officials to ask for documents,” Naik added.
The women however said that if the government tries to forcibly undertake the survey work then they will be forced to put garland of shoes around their necks.
“If any attempt is made to conduct any further survey in the village, then we are ready to drive them away just like the last time around,” a woman informed.
