The meeting was chaired by Bicholim and Sattari taluka DySP Ramesh Gaonkar and was attended by Bicholim Police Inspector Narayan Chimulkar and representatives of mining companies and stone quarries in Bicholim and Sattari talukas.
During the meeting, DySP Gaonkar instructed the mining representatives to undertake remedial measures in case of any natural calamities like landslides and breaching of bundhs. The police official also instructed the mining representatives to pump out stagnated water from mining pits and to ensure proper drainage of rainwater.
