St Inez resident files complaint of assault against Panaji PI

In his complaint, Yadoli has stated that at about 9.30 pm on Friday, he visited the Panaji Town Police Station to lodge a complaint against one Abhishek Megeri from Camarabhatt, who had allegedly kicked his bike while he was passing by Godinho car washing centre at St Inez.
Accordingly, the sub-inspector on duty Y S Garodi registered a non-cognizable offence against Megeri and summoned him to the station. Speaking to The Goan at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim, where he is presently admitted, Yadoli stated, “As I was leaving, Panaji PI Siddhant Shirodkar arrived in a Swift car with PSI Arun Gawas Dessai and Megeri came on his bike. Shirodkar assaulted me with kicks, fist blows and slaps.”
He further alleged that PI Shirodkar verbally abused him in filthy language and also threatened to kill him in custody. “The PI also verbally abused PSI Garodi for recording my complaint. I have requested the DGP to take action in this matter,” Yadoli stated.
Meanwhile, the doctor attending to Yadoli at GMC has said the latter has not suffered any brain or abdominal injuries. “The injuries are simple. His condition has stabilized now, but because bleeding tends to occur after 48 hours in many cases, we have kept him under observation.”

PI denies charge

PANAJI: PI Shirodkar has denied that he assaulted Yadoli and instead countered that the latter has cooked up the story to counter the charges by three others that he assaulted them.
“It is false. There is an FIR against him for assaulting three boys. This is his excuse in a bid to escape from the FIR that has been lodged against him. We have registered a case under sections 307, 120B against him,” PI Shirodkar said. He said there was an altercation between Yadoli and the three boys. “Yadoli arrived at the police station to register a complaint. We duly registered non-cognizable offence and even summoned the boys and warned them. After they left the police station, Yadoli went and assaulted the boys in the Panaji market,” Shirodkar said. He said that Yadoli went to GMC only to escape from arrest and was found there when his victims were taken for a medical examination.
