Bicholim police crack labourer’s murder case, three arrested

PANAJI

Bicholim police on Sunday cracked the Navelim Industrial Estate murder case and arrested three persons namely Chand Mia, Mesan Rehman and Sanjay Paswan.

It may be recalled that a 24 year-old labour contractor Jamidar Rehman, native of West Bengal, was found murdered after his mutilated body was located in some bushes near a factory within the Navelim Industrial Estate in Bicholim.

The deceased, who was residing at Sakhali, was initially reported missing by accused Chand Mia on September 16.

Chand Mia also worked as a labour contractor and was the maternal uncle of the deceased. Accused Mesan Rehman was another labour while Paswan was a labour supervisor. 

Sources from the police department revealed that the missing plaint was lodged a day after Rehman was murdered. The police presently suspect that an extra marital affair to be the motive.

North Goa SP Utkrisht Prasoon, DySP Gurudas Gawde and PI Sanjay Dalvi are heading the investigation into the labourer’s murder case.
