Vasco Police on Tuesday arrested a youth from Behria in Sivan District of Bihar, on charges of sexually abusing a minor girl in Vasco.
According to reports, Mohammed Jinu (21) of Mangor Hill in Vasco was booked with offences under Section 64 of the BNS and Sections 4, 8, and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The charges were filed following a police complaint alleging that in May, Jinu had befriended a minor girl in Shantinagar-Vasco, and subsequently sexually abused her, leading to her pregnancy.
A police team led by PSI Rohan Madgaonkar successfully located and detained the accused in Bihar, and brought him to Goa, where he was arrested.
The case is being investigated by Vasco PSI Archana Gaonkar, under the supervision of PI Kapil Nayak and guidance of Mormugao DySP Salim Shaikh.
