Bill to give GIM pvt university status introduced

PANAJI
The government on Tuesday introduced several legislations including one to grant ‘private university’ status to top B-school Goa Institute of Management (GIM) and another to amend the Goa School Education Act, to align it with the new National Education Policy (NEP).

The legislations are slated for debate and passage in the remainder of the winter session which concludes on Friday.

Other bills introduced include The Goa Agricultural Produce and Livestock Marketing (Promotion and Facilitation) (Amendment) Bill, 2026, Goa Land Revenue Code (Amendment) Bill, 2026 and the The Goa Mundkars (Protection from Eviction) (Amendment) Bill, 2026.

PANAJIThe government on Tuesday informed the Goa Legislative Assembly that nine ferry routes in Goa are operated by the Goa Recruitment and Employment Society (GRES) to reduce overtime expenditure and minimise losses.
