BJP former MLA and spokesperson Siddharth Kuncalienkar on Tuesday said that the Congress leaders are making baseless statements regarding the performance of government and the stability of Zuari bridge.
Calling GPCC president Girish Chodankar’s statements as “whatsapp nonsense” which are only meant for deletion, Kuncalienkar said that there was only a crack developed on a surface coat of the Zuari bridge and it was not a structural crack.
“The Congress is making an issue out of nothing,” he asserted in a press conference held at the party office in Panaji on Tuesday.
Alleging that by their baseless statements, Congress leaders are creating panic in the minds of the people, Kuncalienkar stated that it was the Congress that delayed the construction of the new Zuari bridge.
“Congress government wasted around Rs 10 crores in the consultation process for an Arabian sea link from Vasco to Dona Paula when there was no intent to built it,” Kuncalienkar further alleged.
Taking credit for the infrastructure jobs done by the BJP-led government, Kuncalienkar said that when the BJP government came in the Center, the new Zuari bridge was sanctioned.
“It was the Modi government which sanctioned more than Rs 10,000 crores for the construction of the national highway,” he added.
Kuncalienkar who is also a Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation Chairman also informed that work of Galjibag to Talpan road is almost complete.
This bridge will reduce the traveling distance from 21 Km to 7 Km.
Kuncalienkar also stated that because of the best solid waste action plan in Goa the Supreme Court has not banned construction activities in Goa.
Supreme court has commended the steps taken up by Goa government in solid waste management.
Government has taken steps to clean highways, he added.
He also said that the demand of Congress for a governors rule in the state indicates that the opposition party has already admitted their defeat.
He claimed that administration is not collapsed and going at the steady pace.
