PONDA Aprant Asmitay organization had organized a dialogue with Subhash Velingkar at Vishwa Hindu Parishad hall at Ponda on Thursday evening. During his lengthy address, Velingkar sought to argue that BJP had played with sentiments of masses and how it was trying to create rift between the communities. "It's a universal concept that primary education should be given in mother tongue. Even BJP government in other states of India follow it. But Parrikar is not following it here because he wanted to come to power by usurping it from Congress and he succeeded by fooling us," he said. "BJP and its leaders did everything to gain publicity over MoI issue prior to the 2012 elections. They came to power by using us and then soon changed its assurances and statements. They are now trying to divide Hindus and Christians on the MoI issue," he charged. "If BJP gets elected in 2017, they will say that people gave them mandate and will behave how they want. Hence, it is time to teach them a lesson. If they remain in power, it will be a loss, irrespective of caste, creed, religion and colour," he said. He said the committee on MoI is a mockery. "They have asked for more time to submit report. By then, code of conduct will be in force and nothing will happen," he said.
