Moments after BJP candidates won three out of the four bypolls, BJP president Vinay Tendulkar said the result will not only add stability to the BJP-led coalition government, but declared that two more MLAs will be joining the party in the coming days.
The Congress, however, disputed the claim with former CM Digambar Kamat saying the BJP should name the MLAs instead of floating rumours and speculations.
When questioned whether the move to break the opposition may antagonise the alliance partners, Tendulkar said that the BJP will take the alliance partners into confidence.
“The BJP will not split the opposition MLAs, but if any MLA is willing to join the party, we will welcome them in to the party fold,” he said
He further said victory of BJP candidates in the bypolls will add stability to the 2-year old coalition government.
Kamat, however, said he did not think that BJP-led government ruling Goa will ever be stable for the simple reason that the BJP had robbed the people’s mandate given in favour of the Congress.
He said the BJP should come out with the names of the two MLAs who are willing to embrace the ruling party. “Tendulkar should tell the names of MLAs likely to join them instead of fuelling speculations,” Kamat added.
