BJP govt delaying permission for Kejriwal rally, says AAP

PANAJI
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday said the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party government was deliberately delaying granting permission for a rally of its national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

AAP’s Goa desk in-charge Atishi took to micro-blogging site Twitter to say that the party had put in a request for permissions to hold the rally on December 21 (Monday) about five days ago, but the file has been kept pending at the Chief Minister’s Office.

“Delhi AAP national Convenor and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal will address a rally in Goa on 21st December. AAP’s Goa unit applied for permission for the same five days ago. However, the file is pending in Pramod Sawant’s office. Goa CM Pramod Sawant is so scared of Kejriwal that he won’t allow him to address rallies in Goa?” Atishi said in a tweet on Saturday.

Meanwhile, speaking on the Goa political scene, Atishi said that AAP is emerging as an alternative to the ruling BJP because of Delhi’s governance model and Kejriwal’s guarantees.

The confidence of the people of Goa is growing rapidly in AAP which is getting overwhelming response in its door-to-door campaigns and Parivartan Yatras, she said, adding that pre-poll surveys conducted by the country’s most trusted news channel indicate that Goans have lost faith in old parties.

The surveys demonstrated that AAP’s support base has grown over the last four months and the survey released on December 11, shows the party’s vote share has increased by about 2% to 24 per cent, while the BJP is seeing its vote share declining to 30 per cent, she said.
