BJP losing ground, will face challenge to cross 200-mark: Tharoor

VASCO
Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, who is among the 40 star campaigners for Goa, has said the BJP would face a challenge to cross the 200-mark in the Lok Sabha elections.

Tharoor was speaking to reporters at Dabolim airport on his arrival in the State on Thursday.

“The BJP needs to change its astrologer because we have already seen in the last couple of days that there is a very positive trend among the public who are very disenchanted by the BJP government in the centre,” said Tharoor.

“I am already expecting a bit of a shock for the BJP government this time, especially because 400 paar cannot be attained, 300 paar is highly impossible and 200 paar is probably challenging situation for the BJP presently.”

Indicating a decline in BJP’s popularity and the success of Congress campaign efforts nationwide, Tharoor added: “As of now, the campaigning is going very well across the country and in the first phase of the elections, all the turnouts and voting patterns indicate that the BJP is losing ground.”
