BJP must act against Lobo: Mapusa MLA

MAPUSA

Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza said that the BJP has to take quick and decisive action against Ports Minister Michael Lobo who has been making statements against the interest of the party.

D’Souza also said that he was confident of getting the BJP ticket for the forthcoming assembly elections from Mapusa.

“His (Michael Lobo’s) behaviour is not acceptable as it is against the party discipline. The party should take immediate action against him or else a wrong message will go out to the party cadre,” D’Souza said while responding to queries from journalists.

Lobo was recently found promoting Congressman Sudhir Kandolkar as the winning candidate for Mapusa even as the constituency has been represented by BJP’s Joshua D’Souza.

The Mapusa MLA said that he was confident that the party would retain him as the candidate for Mapusa in the 2022 assembly elections.

“There is no need of ‘Plan B’ for me. I have no doubt that I will get the BJP ticket. For over 20 years my dad has been keeping the BJP flag flying high in Mapusa,” he said.

He further said that he has been working as a dedicated soldier of the party and was also appointed as the national general secretary of the BJP Minority Morcha.
