BJP releases manifesto for Mayem, Taleigao
Employment, roads, bridges, tourism, water and sewerage highlighted

The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday released the manifesto of Mayem constituency.
Addressing a news conference, the BJP leaders said top priority has been given to bring industrial estate to solve the unemployment problem, besides construction, widening, hot mixing and asphalting of internal roads, bypass road to solve traffic congestion, develop Narvem, Chorao and other areas to promote tourism, etc.
Other highlights of the manifesto include efforts to dispose garbage, construction of toilets, 24 hours water and power in every house in next five years, financial assistance to strengthen self help groups, full-fledged sports ground, gym and children’s park in each village, efforts to smoothen ferry service, Chorao bridge, construct Pilgao-Karapur bridge, amendments to the act to solve land ownership problem of Ona-Maulingem Kudchirem villagers, implement the work of Mayem custodian property as per new act, commissioning of railway station at Mayem and construction of over bridge at Poira and Mayem railway crossing points, full-fledged health centre, novel innovative for senior citizens, construction of community hall and crematorium in each village.
Senior BJP leader Premanand Mhambrey, Gurudas Kerikar and others were present for the news conference.
Meanwhile in Panaji, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar released the BJP’s Taleigao manifesto aimed at improving water issues, solve sewerage problems, hot mix roads and create more jobs for locals in the constituency.
Launching the manifesto supporting BJP’s Taleigao candidate Dattaram Naik, Parrikar said though the aspect of employment had taken the back burner, the party had worked to improve other basic amenities.
“We as a party worked hard to implement schemes as well as improve infrastructural amenities in the State but only one that was left for us was with employment. When the ruling party is the same one in the constituency, it becomes easier to get the job done,” he said.
He also promised thousands of jobs with the coming of the Mopa airport which would be given to locals on skill development generation basis.
Speaking about improvements to the constituency itself, Naik said work would be done to provide sufficient water to every house and housing society as well as to ensure the first phase of the sewerage project which for two years has been in limbo, to be operational again and to hot mix every service road in the constituency of Taleigao.
He also said he would set up a state of the art market complex for the constituency with ample parking space.
