MARGAO
BJP state President and Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Tendulkar has asserted the party would win both the Lok Sabha seats on its own strength and the party’s success does not depend on the presence of other parties, including AAP in the fray.
“The BJP’s success is dependent on the party’s cadre, workers and the people of Goa. Irrespective whether AAP is in the fray or not, the BJP will win both the Lok Sabha seats in the ensuing election,” Tendulkar told The Goan when asked whether AAP’s presence will give the BJP an advantage over arch rival Congress.
Saying that every political party has the right to contest elections in a democratic country, Tendulkar, however, hastened to add that the BJP will be in the fray on its own strength with support of the cadre and workers.
“The Goa Suraksha Manch has already unveiled its plan to contest the two Lok Sabha seats. Any political observer may be tempted to say that presence of GSM candidates will affect the BJP. We respect the right of political parties to contest. But, I would like to make it clear that the BJP will be contesting the election on its own strength and achievements,” Tendulkar added.
