Insisting that coal transportation and the Mhadei water dispute were issues during the Congress rule, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Saturday said the BJP government in the State had taken up the Mhadei issue and would go to any extreme to safeguard the interest of Goa.
Accusing the opposition of trying to misguide the people, Sawant appealed to party workers to remain focussed on party work and assured that the BJP would win the 2022 polls with a majority.
He was addressing party workers during the day 1 session of the Prashikshan Shibir of Sankhali Mandal at the Sankhali Municipal Council hall.
“We have taken the Mhadei issue in the Supreme Court and our case is very strong,” said Sawant.
“The opposition has no issues and is merely making false allegations against the government as they are helpless. The BJP will win the 2022 assembly polls with a majority, as the state and central governments have provided many facilities to each family in the State.”
“We will be providing employment to youth in the near future,” he added.
Stating that party workers are the strength of the BJP party, the chief minister appealed to them to create public awareness of government schemes.
Others present at the Prashikshan Shibir included the Sankhali BJP Block President Gopal Surlekar, SMC Chairperson Yashwant Madkar, Dr Saroj Desai, Subhadh Malik and Swati Mainkar.
