Block escort service websites: LoP to CM

Block escort service websites: LoP to CM

LoP Yuri Alemao has raised serious concerns over the proliferation of websites of escort services operating in Goa, stating that such platforms tarnish the image of the state.

He cited a recent incident in Calangute where a tourist allegedly made inappropriate comments towards a Goan woman.

Alemao linked the rise of such incidents to the unchecked operation of escort service websites in the state, warning that they pose a threat to Goa’s cultural values and the safety of its residents.

He called on Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to take decisive action, leveraging the "double engine" government to block these platforms and restore Goa's image as a safe and reputable tourism destination.

Alemao stressed that protecting local women and maintaining public safety must be a top priority, urging the government to adopt stringent measures to ensure such incidents are prevented in the future. He further emphasized that the state must strike a balance between promoting tourism and safeguarding the dignity of Goan society, especially its women.
