The Blue Cab taxi services have been allowed to continue at Manohar International Airport at Mopa, following the intervention of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Pernem MLA Pravin Arlekar.
GMR Airports Limited (GAL) had written to the Blue Cab Prepaid Taxi Association (BCPTA), stating that Blue Cab taxi services have been suspended at Mopa airport from Tuesday.
GAL had defended its decision to suspend Blue Cab taxi services on grounds that the Blue Cab operators had failed to obtain security clearances from the Ministry of Home Affairs and Bureau of Civil Aviation Security.
The BCPTA office bearers then contacted Arlekar, who in turn, discussed the matter with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. The chief minister then contacted GAL and requested them to resolve the matter.
The BCPTA was allowed to continue with the Blue Cab services at Mopa airport, but the association will have to complete the process of securing security clearances.
