Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has stated that various roads in Sanquelimwould be widened to four lanes and beautified, as part of the master plan prepared by the SanquelimMunicipal Council (SMC) and the State government under the Clean Sanquelim and Beautiful Sanquelim Sankalp.

Sawant was speaking after launching a road work in the city, in the presence of SMC Chairperson Siddhi Prabhu, Vice-Chairperson Anand Kanekar, and others.

The chief minister stated the road work from the Sanquelim bus stand to the area near Shivaji Statue will be undertaken initially, and it would then be converted into a four-lane from the health centre to Honda bridge.

He added that the project would take about about two years to complete.

“Many schemes are being implemented to make Sanquelim an ideal city. Development will now be achieved through the Master Plan for Sanquelim,” Sawant added.
