Body found at Dudhsagar falls
PONDA: Collem police retrieved a body from Dudhasagar waterfall on Thursday evening and believed that the deceased is a railway employee from Hubli.
Collem police received a call stating that a body was floating in the Dudhsagar waterfall pond and a police team retrieved the body in the evening.
“We found a bag along with the body and an identity card revealed the name of Mariappa Birgi from Hubli. We then contacted family members of that person and they confirmed that Mariappa had been missing since the last two days. They will come on Friday to identify the body,” a policeman on duty told The Goan.
“It appears that the photo on the ID card resembles the deceased,” the policeman added.
To another query, the policeman said they would contact the Hubli police on Friday in connection with the missing complaint. Collem police are further investigating the case.
