Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho on Wednesday said Bogmalo will soon get a new state-of-the-art Panchayat Ghar and the foundation stone for the new building would be laid within a month.
Godinho was speaking to reporters after inaugurating an underground cabling project at Bogmalo in the presence of Bogmalo Sarpanch Sankalp Mahale, Panch members, Panchayat secretary Merida Mesta and others.
“The new Panchayat Ghar will be a state-of-art building with many facilities that include a Gym and a Hall, besides other public amenities. We are presently in the process of shifting the panchayat to a new location, after which we will demolish the existing Panchayat Ghar structure. We will also lay a foundation of the modern Panchayat Ghar in a month’s time and soon begin work on the project,” said Godinho.
Speaking on the inauguration of the underground cable project, Godinho said it was a long-pending demand of the people.
“Bogmalo is a serene village with lot of trees and coconut palms which touch the wires and interrupt power supply. We now have an underground power cable directly from Sancoale substation to Dabolim Airport and Bogmalo and this will resolve issue and improve the power supply to Bogmalo area,” he said.
