Bolstered BJP gets ready for 2022

Holds training programme for party karyakartas, CM says no separate poll strategy for minority Salcete

Bolstered BJP gets ready for 2022

MARGAO
The BJP top brass hopped from one place to another in Salcete to guide the party karyakartas and prepare them for the 2022 Assembly elections, even as Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said the party has no separate strategy for minority Salcete.

That’s not all. The Chief Minister said that people from Salcete are no different from the rest of Goa, adding that their brothers and sisters will also understand the work put in by his government in the last 20 months.

Besides the Chief Minister, State BJP President, Sadanand Shet Tanavade, BJP Organizing Secretary Satish Dhond and other senior leaders hopped from Margao to Gogol and Davorlim to guide the party workers at the two-day party training programme.

“This training programme for the party workers is a routine process, conducted by the party ahead of the Assembly election. Since Goa is heading for election in 2022, the training programme has been held now. The training programme will also help the party to face the ensuing municipal elections as well,” the Chief Minister told the media.

He said the programme was not just being held in Margao or Fatorda, but across the state as part of the strategy to gear up for the 2022 Assembly polls. “We are concentrating in all the 40 Assembly constituencies. In Salcete, we have merged the constituencies during the training programme,” he said, adding that the party will see the fruits of the training programme in the ensuing municipal polls.

Saying that party workers have taken the training seriously, the CM exuded confidence that people will once again repose their faith in the party in the 2022 election.

When the media sought to know whether the BJP has a separate strategy for minority Salcete, the Chief Minister replied in the negative. He, however, hastened to add: “Salcete people are no different from the rest of Goa. They are our Goan brothers and sisters. They also know the work put in by the Chief Minister and the government. They are also aware of the work done by us in the last 20 months,” he said.

Saying there will be no separate election strategy for Salcete, the CM said, “We are determined to take our work to the last person in the state.”
