Speaking to The Goan, Santa Cruz panchayat secretary Hanumant Borkar informed that notices have been issued to the tenant, one for demolition of illegal structures and the other for disconnection of electricity, a copy of which has also been sent to the power department.
“The builder has also been issued notice for unauthorised installation of barbed wires within the heritage zone of the lake and a copy of it has been sent to the Forest department,” Borkar added.
It may be recalled that a delegation of villagers, fighting for restoration of the Bondvoll lake, had confronted the panchayat secretary for failing to act on the resolutions adopted at the special gram sabha and had warned of a bigger agitation if notices were not issued by Wednesday.
