Boost to Fatorda BJP: Talsanzor Yuva Shakti joins party

Boost to Fatorda BJP: Talsanzor Yuva Shakti joins party

MARGAO
Even as Goa forward chief Vijai Sardesai has said no to any more induction of BJP workers and sympathisers into the party fold, arch rival BJP candidate Damu Naik is on a move to get more and more people into the ruling party.

Party leaders from neighbouring Maharashtra and Karnataka, including party Goa in-charge, C T Ravi was believed to have descended in Fatorda on Sunday to take the ongoing battle right into the enemy camp with just a week to go for the polls.

As Damu appears determined to make a comeback in Fatorda after a gap of 10 years, and is leaving nothing to chance, the former two-time MLA inducted a group of persons from the Talsanzor area led by Deepak Bandekar into the party fold in the presence of party leader from Maharashtra Kulkarni.

At the induction programme, Damu told the media that the decision by Bandekar and his group styled as Talsanzor Yuva Shakti will give him a big boost to his ongoing campaign to wrest the Fatorda seat from the Goa Forward.

While welcoming the new members, Damu assured them that he and the party would try to meet their aspirations on the development front as well as on the employment front.

This is the second time in as many days that the BJP has gone about inducting people from rival camps and independent grounds in the party.

Sources said Damu is bracing up for another major induction before the party goes all out attack against its rival before the D-day.

Meanwhile, Goa Forward chief Vijai Sardesai said he would not go in for any more inductions, saying inductions of people into the political party gives a wrong impression that they are bought by the candidates and the parties.

“Many of our sympathisers, who have been voters of the BJP in the past, were bracing up to join Goa Forward. But, we have decided not to go for any more inductions to ensure their image is not sullied by last minute inductions,” he said.
