A young two-wheeler rider from Borda, Joseph Ferreira, died in a road accident on the Abade Faria Road on Monday.
Superintendent of Police, South, Sunita Sawant, told the media that the 27-year-old two-wheeler rider sustained grievous injuries after he was knocked down by a passenger bus. SP Sawant further informed that the two-wheeler rider landed on a pole after the bus struck the two-wheeler from behind.
“The rider was rushed to the South Goa District Hospital from where he was shifted to Goa Medical College, where he was declared dead,” she said.
SP Sawant informed that the bus driver has been apprehended by the police.
Further investigations are underway.
