FC Goa have already sought the booking of the stadium and SAG has acknowledged the same but the club’s request for confirmed booking is yet to see the light of day.
FC Goa spokesman, meanwhile, informed The Goan that the club is looking to possibly conduct home match of ISL 3 between October 5 and 15 at Nehru stadium. “We are yet to hear from SAG. They have not replied to us as we need to train at Fatorda in the first week of October,” said the official.
Though there was still no clarity as to when SAG will accede to FC Goa’s request to book the stadium for ISL training once they return from Brazil (Rio) after pre-season training, Pravin Volvotkar, SAG’s Director of Administration informed that FC Goa’s request is being processed and that they were working out on possible dates.
“The SAG has received a letter from FC Goa asking for ground booking but since there is BRICS Cup to be held in Goa between October 4 and 15, we cannot confirm the dates to FC Goa,” disclosed Volvotkar. He, however, said ground may be made available after October 17, but nothing has been confirmed so far.
