South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar informed that the special train from Goa will again leave Vasco on September 3 and 7. “Yes, there was some delay on the part of the Railways to announce the time-table of the Goa-Vailankanni train because the Railways had to arrange the special bogies to go to the pilgrim centre,”
he said.
The MP exuded confidence that the special trains will go a long way in ferrying the pilgrims from Goa to Vailankanni for the novenas and the feast of Our Lady
of Vailankanni.
Meanwhile, anxious passengers who had been taking rounds of the Margao railway station during the last several days to book their tickets for the special train to Vailankanni were told by officials to enquire at the ticket counter
on Wednesday.
Inacio Dias, who had been attending the ‘maddi’ and novenas of Our Lady of Vailankanni for over two decades, said a number of pilgrims made enquiries at the Margao railway station on Tuesday as well, only to receive an answer that they enquire at the ticket counter on Wednesday morning.
