British national dies during treatment at GMC

MAPUSA: An 83-year-old British national living in Candolim died while undergoing treatment at the Goa Medical College and Hospital, police said. The deceased has been identified as David John Cockwell (83), a British citizen residing in Candolim. Preliminary enquiry revealed that Cockwell had been unwell and had earlier complained of chest pain.

He was admitted for treatment but died during medical care. Police said no foul play is suspected in the death. The body has been kept at the GMC morgue in Bambolim for further formalities. A case has been registered under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and further enquiry is being conducted by PSI Vighnesh Naik.
