MARGAO
Members of the National Students Union of India, Quepem and Cuncolim team on Wednesday called on the KTC Margao officials with a plea to arrange public transport from Cuncolim to Sanvordem via Ambaulim from 2 pm to 6 pm.
The delegation drew the attention of the KTC officials that the students of the CES. College of Arts and Commerce, Cuncolim are facing Serious difficulty due to the lack of public transport from Cuncolim to Sanvordem from 2 pm to 6 pm as there is a gap of almost four and half hours.
“Our lectures wind up by 1.30 pm and therefore, we have to travel via Margao or wait until 6.30 pm for the next bus from Cuncolim to Sanvordem, via Ambaulim which is very troublesome,” the delegation said.
The delegation led by NSUI Quepem block president Rusbah Phal Desai and Cuncolim block president Dayesh Sawant requested the KTC officials to look into the matter on priority and provide the students with public transport between 2 pm to 6 pm from Cuncolim to Sanvordem via Ambaulim.
They pointed out that the issue has been affecting the students at large, especially during semester exams. Since there are no buses, students face difficulties in reaching home, which is affecting their studies.
The delegation later told the media that they hoped the KTC officials will understand the seriousness of the problem and come out with a solution and give the students relief by starting bus services for them.
