Insisting that the next government will be formed by the BJP, Power Minister Nilesh Cabral on Friday criticised former cabinet colleague Michael Lobo for his comments against the party and said it is for the people to decide, and not him, on the next government.
"It is the people who will decide which is the next government and not Michael Lobo to decide,” Cabral told reporters.
Playing safe, Cabral said the next government would either be formed by the BJP alone of with a coalition with the BJP.
“In any case, the BJP will come back to power. Michael Lobo and Digambar Kamat for sure will not be in the next government,” said Cabral.
Rejecting allegations by Lobo and Kamat of phone tapping, Cabral added: “When BJP is confident of forming the government, where is the need of tapping phones?”
Cabral said both Lobo and Kamat want to be in the news by making rubbish allegations before the election results.
Meanwhile, Cabral thanked MGP leader Sudin Dhavalikar for his comments about him (Cabral) being a good candidate for the CM’s post.
“However, it is up to the BJP to decide who will be the next CM of Goa. Sudin is big leader. He has worked for the betterment of the State. I have had good relations with him,” said Cabral.
