Calangute man held for theft of scooter

Verna police on Wednesday arrested a Stanley Carlos Coutinho (35) of Calangute and recovered a stolen scooter.

Verna police on Tuesday had registered an offence under Sections 303 (2) of BNS upon the complaint of Imran Siddiqui of Housing Board Consua, Upas Nagar, Cortalim. Siddiqui had stated that on August 15, some unknown person had stolen his scooter which was parked at an open place in front of Friend’s hotel.

Verna police on Wednesday arrested Coutinho in this regard and also recovered the stolen bike.

Verna ASI Paresh V Fal Dessai is carrying out further investigation under the supervision of PI Melson Colaco and guidance of Mormugao DySP Salim Shaikh.
