Union Minister for Agriculture Shivraj Singh Chauhan will virtually address farmers from Goa on August 31 as a part of Swayampurana Goa Initiative 2.0.
Swayampurana Mitras, Panchayats and other stakeholders would be part of the interaction that will encourage farmers to adopt improved Agriculture practices, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said today.
Responding to a series of questions, Sawant said that as promised, compensation to the farmers, who suffered crop loss due to heavy rains, would be provided before the Ganesh Chaturthi. He said that those farmers without Kisan card will also get benefits and for that additional Rs 75 lakhs have been sanctioned by the government.
"The process has already started," he said.
On roads, Sawant said that a detailed report on the show cause notices issued to contractors and works is expected by next week.
