Will revive schools with low enrolment: CM

At the backdrop of the closure of seven government primary schools due to zero enrollment, the chief minister Pramod Sawant today said that the government will work to revive those schools where the student ratio is four or less.

Sawant attributed the closures to the increasing preference for private schools, drawing students and parents away from government institutions.

“Only schools with zero student enrollment have been shut. All other govt. schools, even those with three or four students, are being taken up for improvement,” said the Chief Minister.

Despite these challenges, the Chief Minister said that the government is committed to keeping schools with low enrollments open where possible.
