A delegation from Canacona met South Goa Member of Parliament, Capt Viriato Fernandes, during his Zero Hour Session held in Margao on Thursday to follow up on public grievances raised during his recent visit to the taluka.
Residents had earlier flagged several persistent issues, including poor mobile network connectivity and irregular water supply across Canacona. These concerns were reiterated during the meeting by the visiting delegation, which included Yeshwant (Dhillon) Naik Dessai, Sarpanch of Gaondongrim Panchayat; Daya (Umesh) Gaonkar, former Sarpanch of Khotigao Panchayat; and Gaspar Coutinho, General Secretary of the South Goa District Congress Committee.
Capt Fernandes, accompanied by officials from BSNL and the Public Works Department (PWD), held discussions with the delegation to assess the situation. The MP assured the representatives that efforts would be made to coordinate with the concerned departments to address the mobile network and water supply issues affecting the region.
