CANACONA
A total of 335 votes have been cast in Canacona as part of the home ballot system for those over 80 years and Persons with Disabilities (PwD).
However, a person above 80 years who had submitted his 12D form was not contacted as he had tested Covid positive and his vote will be taken up after seven days of his quarantine period.
According to sources in the Returning Office, 63 of the 374 eligible PwDs and 262 of the 572 persons above 80 years have submitted their form 12D.
Accompanied by the respective BLOs, 11 teams of election officers were formed and began their exercise in Canacona constituency on Sunday.
The teams have completed the home ballot system for all those eligible voters who had opted for the facility. There are total eight candidates in fray in Canacona .
Candidates reach homes after voting ends
CANACONA: The elections may be on February 14, but some candidates in Canacona were a little too late in some instances where voting had already taken place. A total of 335 votes have been cast in Canacona as part of the home ballot system. Sources said some candidates had, as part of their election campaign, reached the houses of some of the PwD voters and those above 80 years, only to realise that their votes had already been obtained and sealed.
