Canacona police have booked a resident for allegedly abusing a complainant with filthy language, threatening her to vacate the house, and locking the main gate”thereby wrongfully restraining the complainant, a doctor, from entering her residence.
According to Canacona police, Dr Rajlaxmi Rubalingam, a resident of Canacona, filed a complaint stating that between February 11, 2025, and April 22, 2025, one Conceicao Viegas abused her using offensive language and threatened her to vacate the house. When she did not comply, the accused allegedly locked the main gate of the house, thereby unlawfully preventing her from entering her own home.
The complainant further alleged that the accused conspired with two unidentified male individuals, hiring them to stalk, threaten, and assault her.
Police have registered an FIR under Sections 356(ii), 352, 351(ii), 115(2), 126(ii), and 78(2) read with 61(2)(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023. Further investigation is underway, led by PSI Ramdas B Doifode of Canacona Police Station.
