Condemning the murder of Shivamogga youth and Bajrang Dal activist Harsha Jingade as a heinous crime, speakers at a meeting in Canacona demanded the death penalty to the murderers.
At a public meeting in the old bus stand in Chaudi-Canacona, speakers condemned the murder as a heinous crime against humanity and religious intolerance and demanded capital punishment for the murderers involved in the crime.
Satish Bhat and Jeetendra Amshekar, active members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, addressed the meeting, while Amol Modak (Baudan) also spoke at the meeting. Social activist Damodar Chari was also present at the meeting.
There was outrage in neighbouring Karnataka after Bajrang Dal activist Harsha Jingade (26), popularly known as Harsha Hindu in Shivamogga, was murdered allegedly over the raging Hijab controversy in Karnataka.
Karnataka police have reportedly arrested 6 persons and rounded up 12 for questioning in the February 20 stabbing and murder of the Bajrang Dal activist at Shivamogga.
