CANACONA
Canacona has made rapid progress in cleanliness among the municipalities in the State.
During the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan (SBA) movement, Canacona was initially ranked 13th among the 14 municipalities in 2018.
The southernmost town in the State then improved its position to 7th in 2019 and further rose to third in the State last year.
According to Canacona Municipal Council (CMC) sources, the survey was conducted by a state agency without the knowledge of the municipal council and the SBA ranking for 2021 is still awaited.
The CMC has appealed to people to maintain the cleanliness of their surroundings.
