Canacona Shigmotsav results announced

The results of the Canacona Shigmotsav floats parade held last week are finally out, with Kakoda Shigmotsav Mandal, Curchorem, and Mahalaxmi Nagrik Samiti, Bandora, winning the top honours in the Romtamel category and Chitrarath category, respectively.  

Canacona Shigmotsav Sammittee Working President Babesh Borker declared the results on Monday. In the Chitrarath category, Mahalaxmi Nagrik Samiti, Bandora, bagged the first prize, followed by Adpai Yuvak Sangh (second), Jai Santoshi Maa Khorlim (third), Shivrai Yuvak Mandal, Kallem (fourth), Shree Krishna Hausi Mandal (fifth), and Rakhaneshwar Yuwak Sangh (sixth).  

An honorarium was also given to Sai Kala Mandal, Teen Raja, Shri Dambab Prassann, Shri Shantadurga Prassann, and Shiv Jayanti Samaroah Sammittee, Canacona.  

In the Romtamel category, Kakoda Shigmotsav Mandal, Curchorem, won the first prize, followed by Avdekar Samai, Borim (second), Chandreshwar Bhuthnath Shigmotsav Mandal, Quepem (third), Canacona’s Jijau Mahila Romtamel (fourth), Khandepar Shigmotsav Samiti (fifth), and Suyog Shigmotsav Mandal (sixth).  

In the Fancy Dress (senior) category, the winners were Vaibhav Desai (first), Dhananjay Naik (second), Siddesh Marathe (third), Rudraj Naik (fourth), Swapnil S Naik (fifth), and Pooja P Dalvi (sixth). Consolation prizes were also awarded to four contestants.  

In Fancy Dress (junior) category, the winners were Srisha S Narvekar (first), Paras N Prabhudesai (second), Aaradhya Kadam (third), Aarvi R Pagi (fourth), Gorakh Nagarsekar (fifth), and Shanaya Y Kankonkar (sixth). A consolation prize was awarded to Hitiksha Shirodkar.  

In the Folk Dance category, the winners were Titto Sports Club, Poinguinim (first), Shri Ram Kala Sangh, Ponda (second), Parashuram Kala Sangh (third), Adi Purush, Canacona (fourth), and Navdurga Kala ani Krida Sangh (fifth).
